About the second collection

The second collection is ready for Halloween! Inspired by vintage ads from comics, fan zines, and all other types of pulp fiction, Monsters Mashed is a celebration of all types of ghouls, creatures, and freaks from pop culture.

About our first collection

Our first collection, 8-Bit Readymades, is inspired by a combination of the Readymade objects created by early 20th century artists, and the sweet, nostalgic aesthetic of low-resolution vintage computer graphics.

Readymades are usually associated with the work of Marcel Duchamp. They were “often mass-produced objects isolated from their intended use and elevated to the status of art by the artist choosing and designating them as such.” His most recognized work is Bicycle Wheel where he attached the front wheel and fork of a bike to the seat of a stool. Like all Readymades (and the larger Dada movement) Bicycle Wheel is intended to reject logic and reason, and traditional approaches to art. Further, this particular piece takes two very useful objects and renders them useless through their combination. Rejecting logic and reason, indeed.
